Robert “Bobby” Casler was born in Lansing, MI in 1966. Where he studied business and was a music major. On a cold November morning in 1991 Robert set out on his motorcycle and settled in St Pete Beach, FL where he worked and lived on an 80’ long schooner sailboat. That summer Robert survived a horrific storm off Cape Hatteras while sailing to Delaware where he lived for a year before returning to FL and starting an antique restoration and furniture finishing business. Knowing that Robert was an artist, a client commissioned him for a large mural project, and this was the beginning of his next business, “Interior Artworks”, in which he painted murals, applied specialty faux finishes and finished custom cabinetry in central Florida’s finest communities.
Reborn Upcycling is Robert’s latest endeavor and is a culmination of years of experience and dreaming. “I have always enjoyed the process of helping my clients fulfill their vision of beauty for their living and work space” Robert states. “Now I want to use my talents to portray the natural beauty of Florida that is often overlooked by tourist, or in the normal busy lives of it’s residents, before it disappears”. But Reborn Upcycling is more than just unique art and custom furnishings. It is Robert’s way of doing what he considers a civic duty in protecting the environment for future generations. Robert says, “As a father of three boys and a scout master, I am trying to live an example of the scout motto, Leave No Trace”. In a society where so much is disposed of in landfills, what better example could be set than the repurposing of items into things of beauty and function?
